Does anyone have a good secret or tip for getting nice photos done? I'm talking about photos for things like passports, ID cards, graduation shots, etc.. I have pretty much no sight at all, and have been plagued with some really uncooperative photographers in the past, and feel really down about having a note put on my photos to exempt them from rejection due to my visual impairment... Not to mention having security guards and the like make fun of my ID's kind of knocks my mood down a peg.
Am I doomed to bad photos for life or can I get something decent with practice, tricks, etc..?
Thanks for any help...
i don't know of any actual places that i could suggest, but possibly taking a friend that will be totally honest with you along and have them help make the decision as to whether it is a decent pic. i personally have some sight but still have my best friend or older sister help in this department. i know that they will be honest.
Only thing I know for sure is that most people with vision complain about their driver's license photos. At least for that one, it seems to be a "badge of honor" if the photo is ugly. Personally, if I have to smile consciously I can't do it, because I don't know what it looks like when one smiles, and I don't know how to put the muscles and such in my face to make it happen. I laugh easilly, so I try thinking of something funny. I think that's better than whatever my face looks like otherwise from what people tell me. I'll usually get a reaction like "what was your problem when that picture was taken?"
Good topic. Thanks for posting.

its interesting
dl,
i remember taking my pasport photo and they put a note saying my eyes can't open. what the hell. i felt weird
I don't think I've ever met anyone, sighted or blind, who thinks or has been told their ID, passport, or other official photo looks good. Most people complain about that all the time. I've also never had anyone laugh about my photo, or reject it. Interesting.
